THE CRUISING CLUB

THE CAPTAIN & FOUNDER

Born into a family of merchant navy sailors, at the age of 15 I was introduced to dingy sailing in Dover Harbour, UK. I immediately fell in love with the ocean and spent the next few summers volunteering to teach other avid sailors how to rig up toppers and lazers, drag them down the shingle beach into the sea, to start their sailing journey.

Years later I started to investigate how I could pick up sailing again, but the options felt limited. I needed to hire super yacht ‘Below Deck’ style (I wish). Or hire a boat, find crew, a captain, and pay for fuel and other amenities separately, the costs were mounting up!

From this the idea for The Cruising Club was born. A club to connect boat owners and likeminded individuals who want to learn to sail or simply enjoy a holiday on the ocean, renting a boat in an affordable way, all inclusively with no additional or hidden costs.

Growing up in a merchant navy family, I started dinghy sailing at 15 in Dover Harbour.

This sparked my passion for the ocean, leading me to volunteer as an instructor teaching others how to sail. When I tried to return to sailing years later, I found most options costly or complicated. These obstacles led me to create The Cruising Club, which connects boat owners with those wanting to sail or holiday at sea, offering affordable, all-inclusive rentals without hidden fees.

ABOUT THE CRUISING CLUB

The Club specialises exclusively in day trips from Ibiza to Formentera and Es Vedrà, inviting you to escape the shoreline and experience Ibiza as it was meant to be explored by boat. Each journey is a carefully crafted adventure, designed for friends, families, explorers, seasoned sailors and complete newcomers alike, all brought together by a shared love of the sea.

From the moment the sails are raised, the day unfolds at a slower, more exhilarating pace. You’ll cruise across crystal clear waters, anchor in hidden coves, swim straight from the boat, and discover the wild beauty of Formentera’s beaches or the dramatic presence of Es Vedrà rising from the sea. There’s time to snorkel, relax on deck, feel the wind fill the sails, and soak up the sun, all without the rush of schedules or crowds.

Every trip is about adventure without complication: a full day of sailing, exploration and connection with the elements, returning to Ibiza with salt on your skin, stories to tell, and the feeling that you’ve truly escaped — even if just for a day.

About Vinicus

This 14-meter ketch (two-masted) classic sailing yacht was built in 1981. Below deck, her two masts enable her to have 3 full-height cabins and a spacious lounge area with a galley kitchen, along with two shower rooms and electric toilets.

Above deck, there is a large foredeck equipped with pillows for relaxation and space for deck chairs, as well as a raised table for alfresco dining.

The yacht is also fitted with solar panels to ensure there is power at anchor for charging gadgets and playing music, something Vinicius himself was famous for.
