These men and women are not your traditional Captains ‘all suited and booted’. They come as they are with big personalities and even bigger hearts, full of fascinating stories of life onboard your sailboat.

Born into a family of merchant navy sailors, at the age of 15 I was introduced to dingy sailing in Dover Harbour, UK. I immediately fell in love with the ocean and spent the next few summers volunteering to teach other avid sailors how to rig up toppers and lazers, drag them down the shingle beach into the sea, to start their sailing journey.

Years later I started to investigate how I could pick up sailing again, but the options felt limited. I needed to hire super yacht ‘Below Deck’ style (I wish). Or hire a boat, find crew, a captain, and pay for fuel and other amenities separately, the costs were mounting up!

From this the idea for The Cruising Club was born. A club to connect boat owners and likeminded individuals who want to learn to sail or simply enjoy a holiday on the ocean, renting a boat in an affordable way, all inclusively with no additional or hidden costs.
